B-01The summit
From African cinema to an African industry.
African cinema has produced works acclaimed in Cannes, Berlin and Venice. It has built a heritage. It still has an industry to build.
The vision
An African film must be able to reach its audience in its own language, and travel the world at its fair value.
The mission
To bring producers, distributors, filmmakers, platforms, institutions and investors together around concrete work: localize, distribute, export.
The reason why
What is missing is neither talent nor stories. It is infrastructure: distribution, localization, and financing suited to the reality of the African market.
The ambition
A working gathering that people leave with contacts, agreements and a method, not only with speeches.
The organization
The SCALE Summit is organized by Wawaw Sénégal, a Senegalese film distribution and localization company based in Dakar.
SCALE did not come to celebrate the past. It came to build what follows.
